Lisbon is a very welcoming city for tourists. Most everyone speaks English. Credit cards are accepted nearly everywhere. There are many sites to see. The airport is in the city, only a 15 min drive from downtown. However, the taxi line at the airport is pretty lengthy. You can join many other suitcase-bearers on the metro straight from the airport.
Transportation
The Metro
The Metro is an easy way to get around. Buy a refillable card at the airport for €0.50 and add whatever value you want. Most trips are €1.50. Tap in when you enter, tap out when you leave. The different Metro lines are colour coded.
